AUSTIN, Texas — November 10, 2025 — Leads & Copy — Hometown Hero, a veteran-supporting cannabusiness that specializes in hemp-derived THC and cannabidiol-based products, has donated $50,000 to the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Department of Texas to support its state commander’s recruitment initiative.
The contribution will enable the Texas VFW to expand its outreach and engagement programs, ensuring veterans across the state have access to camaraderie, resources, and advocacy.
Dave Walden, state commander of the Texas VFW, expressed gratitude to Hometown Hero for the donation, stating that it strengthens the organization’s ability to connect with veterans in need. He emphasized that recruitment is vital to sustaining their mission of service and that the gift will help ensure every veteran has access to the benefits, support, and advocacy they deserve.
Mitch Fuller, national/state legislative chairman for the Texas VFW, noted Hometown Hero’s commitment to veterans and strengthening the communities they are part of. He added that Hometown Hero has been a strong voice advocating for responsible hemp policy and that their dedication is evident in their investment in veteran outreach.
Hometown Hero has a long-standing tradition of supporting veteran-focused organizations, donating a portion of proceeds from every product sold to nonprofits that assist service members and their families.
